I was reading fanfic and now I am really fond of the idea that Eugene and Rapunzel take a few years off, like Tristran and Yvaine in Stardust, to find out more and learn about the world and have adventures.
And then they write to her parents a lot and Eugene grows really close to the Queen because letters and she likes reading about what they've done and where they've been and how Rapunzel is doing.
